Africa is currently the continent with the most youthful population in the world. It is also the continent with the greatest number of Christians. This demographic combination presents a unique opportunity for the African Church and God’s mission. Unlike other parts of the world where young people are leaving the Church, African churches are full of curious and energetic youth who are often willing to take risks for something meaningful. Yet, many of them don’t realize their immense potential to contribute significantly in God’s mission. Others who choose missions end up struggling with inadequate support. In this issue of AfriGO, mission leaders spotlight this kairos moment for the African Church and its youth. Read inspiring stories about the impact young people are making in missions and insightful articles on how they can be supported to respond and thrive in their obedience to the Great Commission.
