“God sent his angels to repair it” – a missionary moment
Nigerian missionaries went to the Idaatcha people in Benin: “The Chief requested to see the visiting missionaries. The major problem in the village was lack of water. The borehole in the village had not functioned for some time. They met the Chief and prayed for him that God will keep him in tune with His plan for the land and that the evil powers in the land be destroyed. They also prayed that development would come into his kingdom. The king then gave his permission for them to do the outreach.
The first night, which was a Saturday, the missionaries showed a film in that language and many received Christ as their Saviour. The next day as the missionaries prepared to leave, those who had received miracles at the meeting lined the roadside to bid them farewell. As the outreach team were leaving the village, the borehole that had been bad for three months suddenly began to pour forth water and the people were able to fetch water. ‘God sent His angels to repair it so we did not have to spend money to fix it for them,’ said our missionary. A young man who received Christ as his Saviour the night before went to his village and brought his family members who said to the missionaries, ‘We want to receive our own Jesus.’ They all prayed to receive Christ.”
