Africa Inland Mission’s GO 2025 programme
Clarice Omungu

From June to August 2025, Africa Inland Mission’s Eastern Region office once again ran their two-month summer programme for new missionaries, on the Kenyan Coast. The GO programme is designed to provide short-term opportunities for new missionaries to engage, be encouraged and be trained. This year’s programme had 12 participants from 5 countries (Ethiopia, Zambia, Brazil, Kenya and Australia).
Some of the activities the team were involved in:
– school ministry and teaching English,
– outreach in the community,
– home visits, Bible clubs/fellowship with teachers,
– open-air meetings, Sunday school, preaching, women and youth ministries.
– helping in the construction of a church building
– teaching the word of God and encouraging people about the love of God
– teaching about discipleship techniques
Quotes from some of the GO participants about what they learned:
- “to seek God and ask for His help in ways I never did before.”
- “A very practical reminder that even when I don’t feel it, I am still completely dependent on God.”
- “We were intensely dedicated to Prayer and Bible Reading, and that really brought me closer to God.”
- “Through the challenges and struggles, I could see God revealing Himself to me and I praise Him for that!”
- “I learned to delight and rejoice in the Lord and in His presence. I learned to deeply depend and trust in God. I was reminded of the power of His word and the importance of having a good faith foundation to build on.”
Quotes from some of the participants about their future plans:
- “The experience has stretched my understanding of global missions and stirred a deeper passion in me for strategic engagement in cross-cultural contexts.“
- “It exposed me to see the needs and the available opportunities to expand the kingdom of God, not only locally but also cross-culturally.”
- “I plan to take a more active role in shaping and expanding the missions vision of my church. by mobilizing others, especially youth, through discipleship, exposure trips, and training programs.”
- “I also want to advocate for better preparation and strategic planning in how we support and send missionaries—logistically, spiritually, and emotionally.”
