“My soul is constrained to preach to them” – a missionary moment
Recap: Daniel’s difficult childhood brought to a suicide attempt, but before he could put the pills in his mouth, a broken radio came on and the announcer urged him to accept the Lord. He was saved, and went on to be involved in the church. Though things weren’t easy, he persevered and the Lord began to use Daniel for building his kingdom.
Part three of three:
I am now planning to establish a large training center, for programmes such as teaching sewing, style, language, computer, food and dessert preparation, etc. to help many young people who are unemployed and are still distracted in this life without knowing the Lord, and to teach them the skills to be people of worth and followers of the Lord. I believe that this can be fulfilled because the Lord knows how to arrange all things in his time.
Most recently, I have become interested in reaching Asian people. I don’t know why, but I was always interested in watching movies and TV series produced by Indians. I like their culture and what surprised me is that apart from the Chinese, there are Indians in almost all the provinces here in Madagascar. Their faith is what really motivated me to preach the gospel to them because I feel they relate to false gods. As a result, my soul is constrained to preach to them about Jesus even though I know that it is a hard and difficult task. I have heard many times that when some Indians convert to Christianity, they are persecuted and separated and even end up being killed.
But, I am encouraged by the Scriptures which say that it is also for them that Jesus Christ was born. Indians are in God’s heart and he wants them to be saved. The apostle Paul said, “Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel.” Jesus confirmed that salvation will be preached to all people and then the end will come. I feel that the missionary work in preaching to the Indians will be a long race, but it is worth doing. When we really relate with them, we see that they really need the gospel.
Currently, I have a few Indian friends; some of them are convinced that they are not yet converted, but some of them are also completely converted and some of them want to be baptized secretly for personal reasons, but I still do not have the authority to do that.
They secretly go to church or attend prayer times. One of my friends even pretends to go to the gym but does not stay there; instead, he joins us in prayer. He says he is very secretive because he is afraid that someone will find out that he has converted to Christianity . They need our prayers and encouragement. I believe that one converted Indian can lead at least ten Indians when God works with them.
The mission work for the Indians needs a lot of prayers and donations. They need items such as clothes and things that can attract them to listen to you. They need will, they need strength, they need God speaking to them, because one obstacle we face in sharing the gospel is that Indians in Madagascar ask, ‘If your God saves, then why are you poor?’
Everyone is strong in their calling because God has an unfathomable way to use everyone.
Grace and mercy to you,
