I had to leave the mission field to go back to South Africa because of COVID shutdowns. In that season, I continued to experience a series of miracles on my way to the CAPRO School of Missions. My mother was diagnosed with COVID-19 right before I was about to leave. At the time, I didn’t have money to go to the school, and God supernaturally provided for me through a church that God spoke to about me. My mom was sick and I was wondering if I should go or not, because she was literally in ICU and we were concerned that she was about to lose her life. I went into a time of fasting and I said to the Lord “If you really want me to go to the nations and go for training, I ask for you to heal my mother and make a way for me to go.”

Leaving at that time seemed irresponsible of me, as though I do not care about my mother’s health. I had to count the cost, as my faith and convictions were being tested.
My second request to God was for my COVID test results to be cleared as negative. In that time I needed a negative COVID test to travel anywhere. Because I had been closely helping my mother, I could end up being COVID positive, and then how would I go anywhere? I asked God to preserve my whole family from testing positive for his name’s sake, and for my need to go.
Not only did the Lord heal her and discharge her, but he also cleared my results as negative. It was a miracle for me to be able to leave. My mother was still in quarantine, still recovering after being discharged. God assured me that he would protect her and preserve her, and I did not need to wait until she was fully recovered to go. It was a step of faith as I believed that indeed he would keep her and take care of her. That’s how I left for training and started my journey toward full-time mission work.
