“Angry young men” – a missionary moment

We are working in a Muslim people group, and have had some converts. Their families and the local leaders are not very happy about it and we even feared for the life of one of the converts. We began to hear of planned attacks on our home, and we had many sleepless nights as we were concerned about an assault.

One day, a group of young men were organizing in open daylight to attack us. We went to the police station and key leaders were summoned. Finally, at the king’s council, we were given permission to preach to people age 20 years and over! This right is in the constitution of that country, and they recognized that. Now ministry will be easier for us, and for other missionaries. The key leaders called for a meeting to reinstate us in the community and gave a stern warning to anyone who would dare attack us. Praise God!
